Nicholas Soulas received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from The Ohio State University and Juris Doctor from Capital University Law School. Nicholas is a registered patent agent with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

At Ohio State, Nicholas participated in undergraduate research in the Mechanical Engineering Department. His research focused on using magnetic force microscopy to detect iron deposits in Alzheimer’s disease-ridden brain tissue as a potential method of diagnosis. His research earned him co-authorship of “Artifacts in Magnetic Force Microscopy of Histological Sections,” published in the Journal of Magnetism and Magnetic Materials. Nicholas also assisted the Buckeye Solar Racing Team in designing the interior of the team’s first ever competing solar car.

During law school at Capital University, Nicholas focused his studies on intellectual property, including coursework examining artificial intelligence’s impacts on law, exploring issues on patentability and inventorship with AI-assisted inventions. He also worked as a law clerk with Standley Law Group through law school, where he assisted with patent and trademark prosecution as well as patent, trademark, and copyright litigation.
